Formal testing has confirmed that the Digit-Eyes app will run very successfully on the new iPad.   The combination of the improved camera and the faster processor "really make the product sing" in the words of one of our testers.

Image acquisition was very fast and the look up return of the information was noticeably faster than over a 3G network.

The new iPad will work on 3G, of course, but it is much faster on the 4G.

We've also tested the iPad with the SerialIO Bluetooth-connected Scanfob laser scanner and the browser-based version of Digit-Eyes.    Subject to the limitations of the Scanfob (it only scans horizontally), the experience was very good -- the capture was quick and the product identification information was swiftly returned.
