Manufacturer's Information: Dynamic lines crossing over between the blade and the handle to form an X on the bolster are a distinctive feature as well as the inspiration behind the name of this range of knives. The red dot design prize was awarded to the winners during a special gala event held on 1st July 2013 at the Aalto theatre in Essen. This coating ensures an even higher resistance to corrosion as well as better protection against scratches on the surface. Another revolutionary feature is the transparent ceramic coating, which is used here for the first time in forged knives. In one of the world's toughest design competitions, the innovation from the traditional German company was convincing in all categories. This was also the conclusion drawn by the jury of 37 experts for this year's red dot award: product design 2013, which has awarded its prestigious design prize to the Xline cook's knife. The winning products could then be admired over the subsequent four weeks at a special exhibition in the red dot museum.. Thanks to the special PEtec sharpening process, they all have outstanding sharpness and edge retention. The Xline range of knives from WÜSTHOF sets new standards in shape and function with its distinctive design and innovative forging technique.
