Das Aroma des Whiskys setzt sich aus einer fruchtigen Süße, Aprikosen, Malz und würzigen Nuancen zusammen. Im Mund rollt der Whisky mit einer angenehmen Komplexität und Leichtigkeit über die Zunge. Der Geschmack ist rund und wird getragen von Nuancen von reifen Äpfeln, Toffee und Kräutern. Der Abgang ist leicht und überrascht mit Nelken und dem Aroma von frischgeschlagenem Holz. Der besondere Charakter des Akashi White Oak bildet sich durch seine ungewöhnliche Lagerung: Der japanische Single Malt reift sowohl in neuen Fässern aus amerikanischer Eiche als auch in ehemaligen Bourbon und Sherry Fässern. Jedes dieser Fässer schenkt dem Whisky eine besondere Note. Das Ergebnis ist ein reicher, spannender Single Malt. Die Akashi Whiskys werden von der Eigashima Distillery in Japan produziert. Die Brennerei wurde bereits 1888 gegründet und ist seit jeher in im Besitz der Gründerfamilie. Die Eigashima Distillery (in Japan auch bekannt als die White Oak Distillery) war die erste japanische Brennerei die 1919 eine Lizenz für die Produktion von Whisky erhielt. Die Brennerei arbeitet mit ausgesuchten Whiskys aus Schottland und formt diese nach Familientradition zu spannenden und köstlichen Whiskys.
